BIOGRAPHY

My life began in British Columbia, where I lived my entire youth until attending post-secondary school in Alberta. While growing up, I was heavily involved in organized sport and by my teenage years I began to concentrate primarily on hockey and golf. My love of golf led to enrollment in Turfgrass Management at Fairview College, in hopes of becoming a golf course superintendent. While at Fairview, I developed a keen interest in biological systems and a desire to further understand underlying processes of these systems. This took me to the University of Lethbridge, where I obtained a Bachelor of Science degree (distinction) in Agriculture and a Master of Science degree in Biological Sciences. My M.Sc. research focused on biogeochemistry (see research section for detail), which gave me an extensive background in many aspects of environmental science. With this background, I hope to gain employment within an environmental science capacity.
